Tell him to watch himself on the A9. It's a bitch of a road, even without the trip from Brighton first.

about 10 years ago got a job from north shields fish quay to Aberdeen ( fishing boat knackered ) think it was around the 500 miles round trip, got 400 brick for it & free scran, then the week off when i got home ;-)

had one from north shields about 2 years ago when all the rain hit & the trains were cancelled , the job came on the data head , "going to Sheffield , on the meter" it was a couple of council "suits" needing to get to Sheffield, it was about 17:00 & i had been in all day, they get in the car & ask , so whats this going to cost ? i said i have no idea, its not a run i normally do & its on the meter ( showed them the job description "on the meter ") , i quoted about 250, he then said well i need to negotiate because my bosses wont like it if i cant get a deal , will you do it for 200   , i just said no mate, tell ya what get out & i will send another car up, then they said 250 was ok , i still told them to get out , rang the office & told them to send another car , cant be arsed with people like that , they wernt even footing the bill & still wanted it cheap, would they go to the checkouts at asda with a chicken for a fiver & say to the lass, i will give you 4.50? no, i never negotiate, loads will, i wont , its a job not a hobby
