no, drive for an owner on a back shift when his/her car is idle, dont rent

you may be on a % of the take or hourly rate to start

take a walk round the ranks and ask, and ring every local firm in the book, jockeys are like gold dust and the schools are back now

Been let down by local firms to rent a ph so now thinking of getting my own have been told earnings are around £1000 pw before expenses so the question is whether to take the gamble of financing a car and if so how much to spend iam no mechanic so all work would be at a garage car would be a skoda superb 2010 costing £10000

Your better off being a driver and finding a good taxi operator to work for. Being an owner is a lot of hassle and a totally different job. I know some very good drivers who went and got their own cab, and hated it, and gave it up to go back to being drivers again.

as all the advice above, go and drive for someone else.... I worked the local circuit for 2 years before buying my plates... and no.. I don't clear £1k gross a week on a hackney!! but I earn enough to make it pay... and have my wife with her badge working some of the day shifts......
