I went down to the Magistrates on Thursday to help her lodge her appeal. She paid her £200 and we await a court date. I've told her to notify the Council because she can drive on appeal.
We've got the Solicitors on the case, they seem pretty dumfounded that the Council are going for a 8 week suspension for something that was on her licence back in 2000 when she applied for her badge and would've flagged up on a DVLA check.
We're going for costs when she wins.
This Council is starting to grind my bollox, the LO's words to me the other day when I phoned him up were, "it's going to get worse, there's going to be a few drivers losing their badges".
Well done, I wish her well.
If there is anything the good folks of TDO can help with, then please ask.
I could do with a letter drafting if someone can give me a dig out, my heads a shed at the moment. We've got drivers working who are overcharging, making sexual remarks to lone travelling females, a driver who knocked a passenger over a few months ago who now has a steel rod in his leg, the Police know all about it they're just waiting for the CPS to see if there's a case to go on. (he's still driving)
We've got drivers charging £1.00 a bag for every bag which is put into the boot.
Drivers making threats to kill resulting in one driver ramming the other driver then proceeding to get a wheel brace out of the boot to give him a god turning over. This was seen by 10 people who were drinking in a beer garden which backs onto the road where the accident happened.
We've got drivers who have been banned for driving without a badge and insurance, what do the Council do? They issue them with a real badge, one driver was driving round for well over 6-8 weeks with no insurance, it wasn't until the Council phoned him up that they heard a woman say her destination to the driver.
He got suspended then all of a sudden he's back on he rank with a badge.
There's a driver who got find and was issued with points on his licence for doing 68 in a 30 zone, he got find £1000 and issued with 6 points, (he's still driving)
We have a driver who's just started, there's something funny about him because he doesn't know how to address roundabouts, only last week he nearly caused a major pile up at one of the main roundabouts in Sutton. A mate of mine followed him back to the rank and collared him, his words were, "I'm not understanding English roundabouts, I mean come on how the feck are they getting their licences and passing their driving tests? Are they doing it through the local bribe taker who supplies them with a fake licence with their name on it?
Some help drafting a letter up to send of to the Council would be much appreciated.
Like I said my heads a shed this morning.
Nidge.
