SKDC Figures

According to that there are only 306 hackneys in our district but plate numbers go up to 450 + I cannot beieve that there are over 100 gaps in the series

Also I am sceptical that there are 4 wav vehicles I only know of 2 (mine plus 1 in grotsville) but that is down from the 8 claimed by the council when I asked them interested to know where these 4 PHV wav's are as well I have never seen one

So since I came into the trade in 1991 the number of taxis/PH nationally has doubled in our area there has been a 400% increase

Nothing abnormal in that.

Many councils have plate numbers far exceeding the actual number of taxis, mine including.

It's the number of gaps 2 years ago the highest plate number was around 390 with 312 licensed vehicles now it is nearer 450 with 306 it sounds a bit that they would have so many gaps

I suspect they are giving new numbers out, not replacing new entrants with old numbers.
