With immense difficulty and working tax credits. Don't chase every £3.60 job that turns up, make sure if you go out you get at least £1 a mile for each mile. you won't make a fortune but you won't lose money working all day for nothing.

someone else in my town has an 09 car with 200,000 miles on the clock and moans he has to pay tax. My 55 reg car's done 150,000 miles, I work far les hours and pay very little tax. I'm probably better off than him because I don't work to pay the taxman. Simples.

High population of pensioners, chase corporate work what there is round here and be very competitive on AIrport work plus make sure your business is highly visible on the internet yellow pages etc. it's impossible for drivers to make a living off the rank so phone work is essential

Do I work in a tourist town? Dunno.

I'd say business people pay my wages over the large amount of tourists we receive.

We seem to attract tourists on a tight budget in the uk nowadays, opposed to years gone by.

Blackpool itself is barely managing, driving a taxi is a way of scraping by and by no means a lucrative career anymore.

my best jobs apart from school runs are without people in the car...
