Only received one quote so far...and their best quote for me is £5350. No one else has bothered to reply.

Another one has just replied, saying:
"We have run the quotation through the panel of insurers with whom we have facilities and unfortunately we have been unable to obtain a quotation to compete with your quote from insurance solutions.

Once you have had a full year experience and can provide some no claim bonus, we will hopefully be in a better position to find a competitive quote for you at your renewal next year. In this respect we hope that you will allow us to contact you next year and in the meantime, wish you all the best for the coming year."

How can I have a full year if you dont insure me!?
