if thats the case why do SOME councils not insist on signage, and some have "no plate" cars?....

and some have rooflights on PH...

a car could have "window cleaner" on the doors and still get flagged down

Councils that don't allow signage are usually the thick ones that listen to some of the idiots representing the hackney trade.

Now now that comment is a little uncalled for

The truth of the matter is that there should be a NATIONAL definition of what is and isn't a hackney or a PH as long as councils can decide for themselves it will always be that way

Not sure how to read that

Our LA dont ALLOW signage, they IMPOSE it (Their signs)

Q. How to attract punters to a car
A. Put a bright shiny "Licensed by District BLAH BLAH" sticky on the door

I have to have bright yellow LA signs but they also licence "special events" vehicles that dont have to have them....explain that

It wasn't aimed at you, it was aimed at the bone heads who we read about on TDO who say they represent the trade, and maybe they do, but that doesn't stop some of them being as thick as pigs poo.

Coming out of a busy venue would be very dangerous if the punter couldn't recognise and get into the vehicle they ordered.

Putting signs (even "must be pre-booked) on cars and sometimes rooflights, and worse, allowing the company sign which can include "TAXI" on it) is plain stupid and playing right into the hands of the PH wanting to take a flag down...

the majority of revellers DONT care if its a PH
