Taxi driver allowed to carry on driving - despite 12 points

A TAXI driver who was sent to court after clocking 12 points on his licence has been permitted, conditionally, to continue working as a cabbie.

At a Licensing and Appeals Committee in August Broxtowe Borough Council agreed that providing the driver completed a skills course, they were happy to allow him to drive a taxi again.

Despite being sentenced at magistrates' court for accruing 12 points, he was not disqualified after pleading exceptional hardship.

The council warned him that if her came before the committee again, his licence would be most likely revoked.
