It's right. Warning lights must now be working or else it's a fail.

Sadly yes that's a fail but the plate would not be removed surely unless the car was on or past the last day of it's plate after all if there was a week left on the plate thats more than enough time to get it fixed and in for a retest

In Nottingham, if the car fails the test, the plate is removed.

This post is not about if its a fail

But why does the plate have to come off is it right they can remove the plate

why does the Vehcile need suspending

this is what I think

1) the plate can not be removed unless the consent of the owner is given.
2) The vehcile is failed but why does it not need to be suspeneded

Well I disergree yes fail it, but the rest is unnetessary.

I'm not sure the plate can ever be removed other than if the license runs out, especially if the vehicle is suspended.

Our plate has to be removable so that an authorised person can remove it if the vehicle license is suspended or revoked.

1 is wrong, any plate can be removed by an LO without notice, it never truly belongs to the owner of the vehicle, its a bit like a UK passport, which can be taken by immigration without consent by the person named on it.....wooooosh

Undear section 68 there is no power to remove a plate, if suspended you have no right of appeal tp the courts undear 68, you may havea right to JR the policy?, that is why the council use it , who ever niether ahve they any power undear 68 to remove a plate unless permission is granted by the owner not the driver the owner.

Now move on a little the P/Hire have an age Limint of 10 years and off unless they can passes with on more then ONE fault. but cab from the age of six (6) years most pass with no more than five faults. along with section 68 were there is no appeal until the License will not be renewd.
