My old vectra is just about on her last legs... Not got the £££ at the moment to splash out on a new cab, but been offered a low mileage 1.9dci Laguna cheap....

No-one around here runs one as a cab, what's everyone's opinion? It's either this at £1500 or a Mondeo with same miles for £2700.....

Not too worried about age as no restrictions with my LA.....

I run 2 Lagunas as private hire. No real problems so far although one of the does keep throwing up the check emmisions light. This, I am told is the DPF. We usually give the car a blast down the motorway in 4th gear the next time we are on one and this usually fixes the light for a few weeks.

I have 5 meganes and 2 Lagunas and I seem to have less trouble with them than others on here do with their Skodas and Fords.

Have a look at the Laguna Forum,

http://www.renaultforums.co.uk/forumdis ... 71b0&f=105

Then a look at the Mondeo Forum,

http://www.talkford.com/forum/89-ford-m ... 2000-2007/

And see which scares you the least.

We haven't yet bought the Dacia. We got a great deal on a new Zafira so the Dacia will have to wait. The Dacia that we are looking at is the Logan. It is more or less a Megane Estate. As soon as we have saved our pennies we will be getting one.

That could be tricky then because the centre row of three seats move together to allow acces to the rear 2 seats.

Thanks all... going to take the Laguna for a test tomorrow night... Its really just to get me through the next year, then I'll have a look for something newer...

Its got to be better than my 2001 petrol vectra!

They fold away into the floor to make the flat boot space. Removing them altogether would look a mess.

theyd have to be plated over then to render them inaccessible ....

a guy with an 807 6 seater had to remove a seat, not for the 5 seat capacity but purely for the access rules
