'Specialise in Airport transfers' ?

I'm often puzzled with above phrase which seems to be used by some Taxi circuits and many mini-cab companies.

How exactly do you 'specialise' into taking someone to the airport or back from the airport?

Apart from knowing the route and what terminal their flight departs / arrives from, I wonder what makes them more specialised than me or you?

Starting salaries are around £10,000 a year? that would just about cover my diesel bill. :shock:

Some crackers in there:

They sit at the wheel of their vehicle almost all day, and spend much of the time driving.

Stating the obvious a bit there, but clearly they haven't been to my manor, so maybe it's not that obvious. :lol:

Drivers can control their own environment within the vehicle, although it may become hot in summer :-s

Drivers have no control over the type of passenger who travels in their vehicle. They may chat or smoke, and the driver must ensure that they are not distracted.

Yes, if they puke up on you, threaten you with a knife or put a gun to your head, make sure you're not distracted
