Is there any law that stipulates what side punters get into a cab.
At the moment the NS is against the kerb, from Monday the council is moving our rank to the other side of the street, meaning the near side will be almost in the middle of the road where punters must walk to get into the cab.
I know its stupid having punters walk into the road to get into the cab meaning the could be injured by passing vehicles, or doors could be hit

The 2 main places in our town where taxis rank are on the "wrong" side of the road.

but does it not mean that (unless its a one way street) the car leaving the rank is facing oncoming traffic?

Our main rank is on a one way street on the 'wrong' side of the road... Mind you, that doesn't mean it's legal!

That's a mess up there Skip, not only are you ranking on the other side of the street but the one way system has switched round, would that not still keep the nearside to the kerb....if your now ranking on the north side of channel street facing east as compared to how you used to rank on the south side of channel street facing west? Or has the Road People come up with a further wheeze to fech things up?

Blood they are going to put us back where we were but the other way round so we leave the rank and go straight into market st
Most punters will have to get in from the road, and we know this could cause serious problems especially as there won't be much room with it being 1 way

Do you have any WAVs? if so a wheelchair couldn't be loaded into eg a TX or E7 from the driver's side.
