Sorry to bring a dead horse back to life but....

Some people have said that the DSG gearbox MAY be problematic. Seeing as I may be getting a used car..and that it may be out of manufacturers and extended warrenties, would the insurance cover if the DSG gearbox becomes busted?

Drop the oil every 40,000 and you'll have no problems. There's a guy in the next town to us who's got a DSG box with over 200,000 miles. It's still going strong to this day.

I think the 30,000 feet is a bit high. There are a couple who bailed out at around 22,000 feet and one of my old school mates' dad bailed out at 18,000 feet without his parachute and never even broke a bone. He was the tail gunner in a Lancaster that got hit and his parachute got burned. He didn't fancy burning to death so he jumped. He fell through some fir trees and landed in a snow drift.

Got my new Octavia on lease in August, it's done about 17,000 miles since then and no problems at all apart form a nail in a tyre. Not even a blown light bulb! And it's averaging 62 mpg.
