First minicab firm I worked for was £150/week a rent, which included a PDA with Mercury - open shift as well.
Maintained and insured car was £200/week extra.

Down here PH drivers pay about £120 a week radio rent, £150-£200 vehicle rent (for pieces of sh**), and about £50 a week insurance.

It has been known for some of them to sleep in their cars.

thats what i said...

15 years ago i was paying £45 a week, plus of course the 25% creamed off my account work....

(I know one west brom firm who admitted that alone made them £250K a year)

However "due to unforseen circumstances" i may have to bite the bullet again, ive had a good 5 years of flying solo

Feltham and the surrounding area, also covered Heathrow, so there was some distance work.
..it was £200/week extra if you wanted the car! So add that to the £150 weekly rent it would have been a total of £350/week

Got my own operators licence and I now find my own work, thanks. Instead of paying a company £150/week in rent, and solely working for them, I now pay the equivalent of £5.72/week to TfL (i.e. £1488 for a five-year small operator licence).
