Very sad today to see that Peter O'Toole has died aged 81, I drove him hundreds of times and got well pizzed with him on many occasions, he was tremendous company extremely generous a great passenger in every respect.

On one occasion on hearing my mother was very unwell he offered to visit her [ she was a great fan on his ] in hospital unfortunately she died the next day. Which was one day before Peter was due to visit.

In this cab industry we the drivers meet all sorts, I regard it as extremely lucky for me that i got to know him well.

On other fronts he refused all honors from the Von Windsor specimen and was true republican, hes often lauded for his role as Lawrence of Arabia but told me his favourite role was as Jim Larkin the Irish Trade Unionist and revolutionary in the TV series Strumpet City.

rest in peace comrade

TT

Loved his films, the "Nights of the Generals" being very watchable - his eyes being made to look like he was demented.

Apparently when asked as to how he kept fit, he replied.........."By walking behind the cortèges of friends of mine - who used to go to the gym"
