MOI?

Can you imagine a Ford planning meeting...

OK, we arent making enough, what can we do?

Mr Delphi "Well, we have a version of the Duratorq MK3 engine called the Tdci to replace the Tddi, injectors £200 each instead of £50 and they need £200 worth of fitting and a computer to set up"

Boss.."Good man, next"

Mr LUK, "we have a normal clutch BUT we use a stupid flywheel that means you have to change the lot, £1000 instead of £200"

Boss "Kin el, brilliant"

Mr Exhaust man, "Well we gave you the catalyctic converter which isnt needed on diesels, does SFA but costs £400 when it gets nicked, here we have a DPF, I wont bore you with the details but its £1500"

Boss "cool, hope it doesnt last long, whose next?"

Mr Citroen "Bon Jour, eenstead of your 300,000 cam chain engine, ear wee have zee PSA cambelt engine, zee belt lasts 80,000 but can snap anytine costing £900 to put right, or £300 to change, you cannot lose"

Boss "Ive never trusted the French, but ok, we will take it"

Boss "anything else?"

Mr Emissions "Our new EGR valves cant be blanked, cost £400 and only last 13 months"

Boss...."merry xmas guys, I love ya"

A pal of mine put a boost charger on his BMW when the battery went flat. Cost him well over a grand to sort out the electrics afterwards.
Give me an old motor any day, 99% of the time you can fix it with rubber bands and mole grips .

Tow starts and Easy start are frowned on now, I spent a lot of the 70's using both

All those perfectly usable cars that have had to be scrapped, recycled and turned into plastic contraptions overseas that fall to bits needing vast amounts of spares ferried over from the chinese and others who pollute on a massive scale.
Thats progress..

Cars whose manufacturing processes CO outputs were 20 years old, scrapped so a slightly greener car to run could be made in a new factory thereby adding emissions...

Apparently methane gas is the next thing to worry about. Inner city no farting zones before long I reckon.
