Anyway, a big lorry with a load of yellow paint turned up this afternoon and started to repaint the taxi rank, with a broad yellow line over the double yellows. I must have spurred them into action!

Is that sort of road marking legal? I can't find it in the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions as being legal for a taxi rank.

single yellow line, no parking.
Double yellow line no parking at all.
Broad yellow line, no parking at all at all.
