Ive spoken to her this morning. She is going to look into it. Apparently someone else has already asked for the Skoda. But she said she will speak to the guy who the company deals with regarding leasing.

Been told that someone else has already asked for the Skoda. Have now spoken to the guy who caters for all the vehicles in the company. He buys weekly from auctions.

So he starts off with used cars....then they get used more.......now you want one of his ex cars...

something tells me......

I used to get Unipart fleet sales alerts, 2 or 3 year old cars direct from the Unipart fleet, many with warranty

TBH you may as well get down to a BCA ex-lease auction where Black Horse, Lex and all the others put thru 1 owner FSH vehicles

Just a note

Firms like Lex wont claim for repairs if a car is damaged, they just sell it off, so as he deals with lease/ex-lease cars you could HPi one all day and still buy what should have been a cat d or cat c....but its not on the Vcar register

I lease my new Skoda Octavia, £259 a month for 3 years, then it goes back, and I get a new one. It works out cheaper in the long run than getting second hand stuff that may keep breaking down.

BTW mpg is now up to 65.3 on the 7-speed DSG box with 1.7 diesel.

Care to elaborate more Roy, are you mileage restricted, you could easily cover 150K in 3 years, does that include servicing more questions to answer, BTW its a 1.6

also Roy, seeing the adverts for personal lease cars, they all state (in small print) "substantial deposit required, and subject to final payment", also did you have to pay VAT upfront? i.e. deposit £2500 THEN £250 a month over 4 years THEN £4000 "balloon" payment...

Its rarely as simple as just "£200 a month" is it, and thats without mileage restrictions, or considering servicing/warranty arrangements, if it can ONLY be serviced at a main stealer thats gonna hurt too

Do/did you ONLY pay the £9300 for 3 years useage? (£3000 a year)

I paid £4000 for a Mondeo, ran it for 4.5 years, it cost £3000 in repairs+service (£7000) and i got £1500 for it when i sold it (£5500 total or £1200 a year)

and is the mpg whats on the trip, cos weve been here before....

These are actual results by useage/mileage over 1000's of fills, what you are claiming beats the best of the best by 10%.....

I had to pay an amount up front, I think 3 months lease (NOT HP) and the VAT. There's no balloon payment at the end because it's on lease. I pay the servicing (far cheaper than the Toyota Hybrid that it replaced).

1st service at 20k miles about £110, oil change and filter. Mileage is limited to 25k a year, we normally do about 35k a year so there will be a bit to pay at the end of the 3 year term. There's vat to pay on the monthly lease fees and the deposit, but I'm registered so no problems.

The mpg I quoted is from the car's computer. Top mpg was about 83.something which I put on here a while ago. Use the tiptronic at 30 to get into 6th, then tiptronic to go into 7th at 38, go easy on the right foot. Simples.

At least with the lease car it's under warranty all the time, so the only repair bill should be routine servicing and whatever consumables wear out. A day off the road every six months for servicing can't be bad.
