I had to pay an amount up front, I think 3 months lease (NOT HP) and the VAT. There's no balloon payment at the end because it's on lease. I pay the servicing (far cheaper than the Toyota Hybrid that it replaced).

1st service at 20k miles about £110, oil change and filter. Mileage is limited to 25k a year, we normally do about 35k a year so there will be a bit to pay at the end of the 3 year term. There's vat to pay on the monthly lease fees and the deposit, but I'm registered so no problems.

The mpg I quoted is from the car's computer. Top mpg was about 83.something which I put on here a while ago. Use the tiptronic at 30 to get into 6th, then tiptronic to go into 7th at 38, go easy on the right foot. Simples.

At least with the lease car it's under warranty all the time, so the only repair bill should be routine servicing and whatever consumables wear out. A day off the road every six months for servicing can't be bad.

it would be illuminating to see what its actual MPG is, next fill just set the trip meter and record how many miles you and the ltrs when you next fill up

Wana the Superb, has a normal trip, and a computer displaying the alleged MPG, he allegedly uses the trip, when you park the car overnight the comp display resets itself, so when you start up first thing and drive the comp figures can reach over 90 MPG until you have driven about 5 miles

only a manual check of miles covered and ltrs used will be accurate

would anyone trust the "miles left in the tank" reading?

so your biggest regular spend is unimportant? strange attitude, do you seek a deal on insurance and tyres?....do you buy the cheapest diesel?

also, all the big transport fleets use proper mpg records to monitor vehicle condition
