Nov 2012 E7 I was only saying on here the other week that i think most the problems with the old model were sorted. But only after 78.000 the clutch has gone the NEW SO CALLED HEAVY DUTY CLUTCH that cab direct are now advertising. Never have i got less than 150.000 out of a clutch before thats been down to ware only . But on the + side its only £470 for a new clutch fitted because no more DMFW flywheel. Funny how they have stopped fitting the DMFW when it was such a good idear

I guess that would also fit the Citroen Dispatch Combi as its the Same body and same Engine I think...and my Citroens had 3 New Clutches over 7 years and even the Brand new Clutch or Flywheel makes some less than likeable noises..

The Judder on Pulling away that the Failing Dual mass fly wheels made was horrendous, I hope the E7 has the same 2.0 HDI engine..bliss.

torque limiting software can do the job of a DMF with no renewal costs every 3 years....

All repaired a back on road. Garage told me his had a few like this with the new peugeots & Citroëns. The clutch has a self adjusting ratchet that over adjust causing the clutch to burn out. Which explains why my clutch started to slip badly at 44.000 till 46.000 then was fine till 78.000 when it was completely burnt out. All because of this new adjusting ratchet. Peugeot just cannot make a car with a good clutch after over 100 years in the business

the quick answer to that is that Peugeot dont make clutches, the next point is clutches were fine till 10 years ago when some bright spark couldnt leave well alone, how many good clutches got changed cos the DMF was knackered and had to be done?

Probably the same type of Prat who thunk up EGR valves, Space savers, Cornering lights and Keyless locks...all about as much use to a vehicle as an appendix is to a human. Fechin useless Uni Trained engineers acting like they know everything when in reality they know nowt.

My first Taxi was a Cortina, the bloody thing wouldn't break down, the cam belt went once, the lad came out and fixed it at the side of the road. No valves bent.

Must have been a Mk3 to have a cambelt, I had one go one 1600cc Montego estate, just needed a belt, the garage owner had his break on a Rover 820 and it needed head/valves/etc....

I didn't say Peugeot made the clutch. They just don't make a car with a good clutch in it. Some Toyotas on this rank have done 250.000 on the original clutch and flywheel.

My mistake


LUK make the vast majority of the standard DMF flywheels (with internal springs)


Sachs make a better one with planetary gears inside to absorb torque, straight swap, price about the same and no SMF issues
