I was speaking to a guy who runs a big 7 series BMW saloon on "exec" plates, he doesnt do pub runs or OAP shoppers, we are talking £500-£1000 a day personal service, theatres, Oxford street shopping trips, one of his customers (a barrister) was looking at him not needing plate as the customer books HIM as personal escort (no, not that sort) and the car is almost irrelevant..............

I spoke with my licensing department regarding the need for a plate on executive vehicles and their reply was to support my application with a business plan, that said it wouldn't negate the need for me to go through the process of having a plate just the need to display it.

Well hopefully the barrister will spend hours of his time researching.

But I could give him my answer for nothing. But I wont.

I can see the point, the guy is booked as a concierge/man servant to book hotels. theatres, restaurants, sporting events (wimbledon), the transport is incidental

he said licensing almost had a dicky fit, choked on the chocca mocca light

If the car provision is an incidental part of a much wider activity they he wouldn't need a license. Much the same as a child minder doesn't.
