Hi all,
Im thinking of giving up my day job and becoming a taxi driver.

Question is, in tamworth staffs, is there money to be earnt? If so what coukd be my earning potential (realistic)
Also does anyone know of a good firm that wont take advantage of my "freshman" ways and lag of how things work?

I wanted to do hackney carraige over private hire

Thanks for any help in advance

If you want to work long unsociable hours for average pay, then this is the trade for you.

Basic rule is the longer you work the more you will earn, but are you up for 60/70 hours a week?

If you want to work 9 to 5, Mon to Fri, then you won't earn a bean.

Ring around the local firms to see if they run a knowledge school. If so enlist and see if it's for you.

you might get a drive but dont expect to get a plate, its WAV's only im afraid, and theres lots of them

i know some who rent taxis so that may be an option (£200+ a week)

the PH are much cheaper so very popular, 3B's Bennetts, Acorn (mixed fleets)

The real money is after dark

If the badge is dual HC/PH get one (the knowledge test is harder than ours in Lichfield)

Pro rata the fleets here (no WAV hack requirement but many are) are as upmarket as Tamworth....

the flag is quite high and i knew 1 woman driver getting £30 each way tamworth-lichfield on a school run in an E7, 6 days a week = £360 a week is a good start and the rental covered
