I agree with you 200% about they won't bring people into the local Town. When they re-opened the Robin Hood line from Nottingham to Worksop it didn't bring any extra trade into the local towns that had a new station built, it had the opposite effect, people were going out of the Towns and going to Nottingham. The same will happen in your manor Skip, they'll be attracted to the big city and not the small towns.

The trains that run round here are mostly empty except for the hour in the morning and the hour in the evening and the trains from Nottingham on a Saturday afternoon when all the drinkers have been on the waterfront in Nottingham drinking.
