I'm afraid that may happen on Saturday without any official planning.

Most cabbies take the night off to watch it, leaving me to clear up but forcing lots to use other forms of transport.

Mind you once they go out a couple of groups later,it's the minicab drivers turn to come off the road to watch their nations . . .

The further Romania go the better.

What a cracking day :D

Thousands turned up, gridlock ensued and all the main news channels were there. I think we made all the main bulletins at 6pm and 10pm. That'll do me.

Apart from concentrating on 'the minicab app', most news channels did eventually pick up on the main theme of the demo which was TFL are crap at their jobs.

I'm sure old Hendy was spitting feathers (with his hired mistress?) and I hope his blood pressure went through the roof. Lots of support from Piers Morgan, Stephen Fry. Kevin Pieterson, Mitch Winehouse and other well known commentators.

TFL dragged out Harry Mount the cab hater onto LBC, and apart from that chinless wonder most people I spoke with in the street were very understanding of our gripes.

I'm sure those at the top are now very aware of just how incompetent those at the top of TFL are.

Will it bring instant change to TFL's attitude? Probably not, but it will eventually . . .

It was on all the news channels mate, Stevie Mac was interviewed on BBC1 earlier in the day.

Something's happened today, apparently Ubers been given a few days to sort out its act (excuse the pun) or their license will be suspended next week by TFL.

This is from both the LTDA and LCDC.

Apparently Boris had one of his regular meetings today with trade reps and he again reiterated that he (Boris) believes they're operating a meter.

Hmmm :-k

Even if their licence is suspended, they'll carry on operating until an appeal is heard.

Now before I go to the foot of my stairs, could it be that the world has moved on and left the trade in the dark ages, especially in London, even the taxi rules are over 100 years out of date for most of the UK

The majority if our taxis are now under 5 yrs old.

5000 are in a radio circuit.

15000 use apps such as Get Taxi or CabApp.

So explain what's dark ages about that?

Or is progress coming out to the counties and paying someone 120 a week to work and joining a rank that nets you a job every hour?

What's not to stop Uber or Apps to operating elsewhere .

Where both Hackneys and Private 's are on meters .

Ph's are not restricted to the same as Hackneys tariff,

PHV operator license. Anyone can get one who is fit and proper & even not have a vehicle ,

ie “operator” means the person who in the course of business makes provision for the invitation or acceptance of bookings for private hire vehicles

Even if you pay, let say £100 per week for circuit rent . And your total fares for that is week is £1000.00 , you have now paid 10% com for a circuit fee

As for meters , all vehicles have them. Its the thing in the instrument panel that records the mileage

Boris bottled it saying if TFL banned Uber right now, it could lead to a judicial review.

FFS, that's what we WANT to happen you blonde buffoon. #-o

The LTDA's legal case goes on.

The LPHCA's legal case continues.

TFLs high court case 'continues'.
