I was trying to find out if the rest of the paperwork was in order IE mot taxi test and so forth, and as you put plate expired, I thought it was one with a stupid expiry date stamped to it.

No Nidge, we can use a hard back one, or sticky back plastic depending on the vehicle, and so we don't have to drill holes


You don't have to drill with the MOGO plates.

Isnt the business in her name grandad?

No, she is one of the directors along with my son and his wife. She does not actually have anything to do with the day to day running of the company. That is my son and me. However she still signs the cheques and the paperwork for the business so it was her name on the vehicle license.
The enforcement officer has been round this morning to interview the driver. There were no awkward questions asked. Basically she was confirming what I told them 3 months ago.

Seems rather stupid treating an expired plate as a new application. Let it go to court and challenge them. I'm sure you'd win on that point.

But then, as the poster here says, prepare your anus. Did I hear you drop the soap?? :shock:

We took the decision not to re- apply for the plate because the car has high mileage and we are looking to replace it within the year anyway.

You can suggest whatever you like but unless you can provide me with a time machine it is a bit like a horse and stable door. Procedures have been put in place to ensure that it can't happen again.

We have that here. Plates are MOGO but don't carry an expiry date. The paper licence has the expiry date.

we have a paper A4 "vehicle licence" with the expiry date and the date is also on the plastic plate on the car, bit hard not to know really

If the vehicle does not pass the test on time, even waiting for parts, then it would be a new application.

My insurance requires I have a valid plate for the vehicle too
