I have been offered the chance to buy a 2008 Skoda Superd Elegance 115bhp 1896cc. It has full leather and a lot of kit. I have known the car for 3 years and the current owner is a fastidious type. It has done 180000 but has full service history from a respected local independent trader. Price including meter £2200. If it last me a year I would be happy. Any thoughts please?

The Milage should not be an issue, the vehicles are huge but relatively economical to run, they are comfortable and well appointed.

Ive had two Skodas, first one was faultless, second one a superb started to have electrical niggles such as Wipers packed in (a hard to trace fault but an easy fix afterwards) and then they Aircon fecked up looked like it might need a new Aircon pump so I got rid of it.

That said, lovely cars and I'm a tad sorry I traded that car in...it had miles left in it.

Thanks for replies folks. The plate (PH) will be transferred but it will be due for renewal at the time I buy it if it all goes ahead.

make sure it has a full test and Change the oil every 10K should last 500,000 or more and it should have had 2 belt changes with that mileage

Ive Driven nothing but Skoda Superbs for the last 10 years always Diesels, the Auto 130 bhp is in my opinion the best of emm, 50mpg on a long motorway run with air con going no problem.

Do the oil changes every 10000 miles use top quality fully synth and change the timing belt every 40000 and it will go forever, only problems ive had front springs needed replacing after 112000 miles. Best economy between 80 and 90 mph on motorways !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
