I wouldn't say it will or won't happen. Only that the probability is increased.

Probability is a mathematical function used by statisticians using sample data. Do you have any sample data on which to base your view that it will increase?

Probability can also be considered in a grammatical sense, when I used the word it was in that sense I used it, I am not a degree qualified Mathematician.

As to statistics, "There are lies, damn lies and statistics". I forget who to credit the quote to.

Further, statistics can be used to prove or disprove just about anything.

In all probability someone will abuse these parts of the deregulation bill if they go through. On that, you can quote me!

and if the proposals go through more rapists will have access to vehicles that will enable them to lure more potential victims into there waiting arms. Even if it's just one it's one too many and it'll make getting home safely even more precarious for non savvy females. On the bright side tho some driver somewhere will have saved a few bob so that should make them feel happy and at least we now know that public safety has a pretty low price

Do you not get it that they have access now?

Or are you in the gang that thinks rapists are waiting for the Dereg Bill to go through?

They don't have access now that's rubbish. There are drivers that have turned out to be rapists but there are not rapists with access to private hire vehicles legally. If they take a chance now and get stopped they're not insured so some won't take the chance, but, once it's legal for them to drive licensed vehicles if they get stopped they have nothing to fear they can carry on their merry little way. This thing about saving money is a load of bollox if you ask me. If couples work different jobs that don't enable them to share a vehicle they have to buy two cars or one gets the bus so what's the difference with taxi drivers and their families? Personally if people think that others won't take advantage of this situation once it is legal then imo they are fools, you may think I'm a scaremonger but I'm not a fool.

Non licensed drivers already drive licensed vehicles. That won't change. Just because a vehicle owner can insure anyone to drive does not mean that the he will or that the insurance company will let him insure any unlicensed driver.

In London where they have a high rate of sexual assaults etc

You can't possibly know that and I would rather they didn't take the chance

Again you don't know that either and again I'd rather they didn't take the chance.

I'd love it if others could drive my car but they can't and that's the way it is. I don't want them enabling this and hoping that bad people don't take advantage because sure as eggs are eggs they will.
