just as the promises of the yes side could be seen as a wee bit dishonest?

All depends on your point of view really. 8)

Let's face it, if you've no decent arguments and you're haemorrhaging support, what better than highlighting how intimidated you feel? Especially when you have a tame media to promote it for you.

I suppose it does, and in fairness, nobody has been murdered

I thought the opinion polls were all about the same. So where is this Haemorrhaging taking place?

Personally I hope it is a YES purely from the point of view that the political set up drastically needs reforming. However I feel that a lot will bottle it....and it will be a big No at this moment. However (again), the genie is out of the bottle and this will resurface and resurface until a YES vote happens......But! it will have to be quick as the doom mongers will use the argument that OIL has only another million/zillion/whatever years left which will not see Scotland through eternity

Of course this has really upset the apple cart with Welsh nationalists also starting to call for the same. Even if Scotland do give a No.........THIS WILL HAVE CHANGED POLITICS.........verrrrry interesting :D

What they all forget is the 80,000 postal votes already in; the votes of those voters can't be changed and may clinch it either way.

Yes campaigner Dad's fury as son narrowly avoids chair thrown from balcony by No supporter

Sep 01, 2014 00:01
By Mark McGivern

SCHOOLBOY Kieran Loudon was campaigning with dad Gavin alongside independence stalwart Jim Sillars in Kirkcaldy, Fife, when a chair came crashing down from the balcony.

A YES campaigner dad has called in police after a chair was allegedly thrown from a balcony at his eight-year-old son.

Schoolboy Kieran Loudon was campaigning with dad Gavin alongside independence stalwart Jim Sillars when a chair came crashing down from the balcony.

Gavin said it was thrown by a woman who had been heckling former SNP deputy leader Sillars about the NHS.

Kieran was forced to jump out of the way to avoid it and was left badly upset, he added.

The incident happened in Kirkcaldy, Fife, where Sillars had taken his MargoMobile, his campaign vehicle dedicated to his late wife Margo MacDonald.

While Sillars was talking to gathered locals on a megaphone, a woman on a second-storey terrace appeared to take exception to the debate, Gavin said.

He added: “We had been to a christening earlier on and both Kieran and myself were in kilts.

“While Jim was making a public address I became aware of a woman ranting about Alex Salmond wrecking the NHS in Scotland.

“I tried to tell her that it was the Tory cuts that were behind problems in the NHS but she was having none of it.

“She threw the chair down and she came very close to hitting my son, who was really upset.”

Gavin said the current climate was like nothing he has experienced in the last three years of campaigning. He said: “Things have gone crazy but it’s not all about attacks on No campaigners.

“I felt I had to make to complaint to the police because this could easily have ended quite seriously.”

A police spokesman said: “We are investigating an alleged incident and inquiries are ongoing.”

Painting Yes supporters as loony nut jobs and the No lot as poor helpless victims of cybernattery isn't a new thing in this campaign. It's been done to death by those with no vision, no argument and no hope.

The Tartan mob might fancy going it alone but deep down dont want to risk the fiscal chaos that could happen and the ensuing higher taxes theyd have to pay

you know what they are like about money

Of course England is entirely devoid of anti-Scottish sentiment at the moment

it could make for some interesting cross border trade given the many unclassified roads between England and Scotland, especially Scotland sets lower VAT, fuel duty and import taxes, fuel, cars and fags might be cheaper
