While I grant you there are some decent people left in the Labour party, they are a minority. It is run by and full of Tory type people with Tory type attitudes. I don't know how it is down your way but up here they all talk like good socialists and when it matters they vote like good tories.
Thatcher's greatest achievement was making the Labour party right wing Trots. That hasn't changed, nor does it look like changing anytime soon.
It's also why their support in Scotland, where they used to weigh the Labour vote, has deserted them in droves.
