Skull, why is it even important to you what I think should be done about ISIS?
Do you actually think, even for a second, that any of our opinions will have the slightest bearing on what happens next?

The current situation with ISIS is topical and very interesting and this is a debating forum. :? And if you take your view what's the point discussing any subject?

Oh and Gus, make no bones about it, if ISIS isn't stopped it could have a serious impact on our way of life in this country and beyond. :-|

As for our opinions having a bearing on what happens next, I am of the belief that Britain and America are trying to destabilise the Middle East, in a bid to take greater control of the region. The point will come when every weapon in their arsenal is used on ISIS but for now they are holding off and only tinkering around the edges with air strikes until public opinion is resolute.

What happens next is about public awareness and what the public are prepared to accept. :-|

So why bother entering into the debate in the first place, if your were just going to act like a child? #-o

So you, like Gusmac don't think ISIS should be stopped by any means necessary and their threat to Western society is perfectly acceptable and we should just let them get on with raping and killing their way to a global caliphate? #-o #-o #-o #-o

I have said on numerous occasions - just like gusmac has - that I don't know what the solution is.

Our last solution was to drop bombs and kill brown people - this wasn't too dissimilar to the solution before that and the one before that one.

I made the point that history suggests we haven't yet came across a solution and I cant see the current bombing providing any solution either.

I again point out that I don't know what the solution is - although I'm tempted to send my wife there on holiday.

Well that's simply not the case. The world has never faced a threat like ISIS, so it's not just about killing brown people, it's about stopping a serious terrorist threat to Western and Middle Eastern society. And to do nothing, is not an option, at some point ISIS will have to be stopped and this is the first time the rules of war don't apply. This is about killing ISIS to a man with no prisoners being taken. :-|

So what makes you the expert on this?

I remember someone telling us that Saddam could launch a strike that could hit this country within minutes.

Now we're led to believe a bunch of wannabe ninjas and schoolchildren are going to take over the world?

really?

The world has always had religious nutters and players like America and Britain but I don't think we've ever seen a terrorist threat, which has captured oil wells, in an area the size of the UK and has no intentions of stopping no matter what.

ISIS is a bit more than a bunch of wannabe Ninjas. :-|

They've taken advantage of a civil war in Syria that has left the Syrian government crippled - Iraq has been a mess for a long time - it is effectively run by war lords in various provinces - I notice they don't appear to have gone anywhere which has any semblance of effective armed forces.

The turks are standing by and watching them crush the kurds - no surprise as turks hate kurds

It's a complicate issue but not so for ISIS, they will simply turn their attention to whatever best promotes their cause.

And yes, the Turks hate the Kurds but you would think, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, would kick in at some point because ISIS hates the Turks for what they stand for. :?

You couldn't make this sh*t up
