I think some are under the illusion that ph drivers have no say in the work they do, from my experience nothing is further from the truth.

Of course it is the same for PH but what would UBER do about a driver that accepts a job but then does not do the pick up? If you work through an office you can contact them straight away to tell them why you didn't pick up. Can drivers do this with UBER?

I don't know why don't you ask them?

Yep.

I gather 'über' punters are quite special people ...... Or putting it another way, I've had very little cause to drive by the arse.hole community recently as they're now holding on to their kebabs / lampposts whilst holding their smartphones in the other

That is certainly one advantage of being a Hackney. You can see a punter before you stop and decide if you want to pick them up.

Rest assured that is also the case with being a PH.

If I don't like the look of them, I don't take them.

if they cant stand up i dont pick up

I would imagine there must be some sort of office to communicate with.

don't they need to have an office (and a phone number) to hold a PH op licence?

If anyone uses twitter, just have a look at ubers timeline.

Hundreds and hundreds of complaints and apologies, crap service, overcharging, drivers asking female punters on dates, drivers not speaking English, constantly lost, cancellations, .......

And they're going to take over? :D

we will see about that.. mind you they'd probably have the hacks on board in a flash if they guaranteed them a (good) fixed income... that uberX sounds wide open to exploitation though. ive seen hundreds of complaints from drivers and passengers alike.
