There's very little to report really, it's a year and 2 months old, it's done 32000 and had it's first service back in July.

The only problems have been a radio speaker in the door panel, that horrible scraping noise as the rear drums (parking) seem to let stones etc in, and of course the rear wheel steering needed new actuators before it's annual plating.

Quite enjoying it really.

There's a relaunch in January with a brand new MERCEDES developed rws system which is apparently 100% right this time, and the dealerships will be named who will sell them after Kpm failed.
All looking good, they seem serious about staying.

The vito taxi club is now our collective voice on all things vito, and Mr Cantys doing a great job with Mercedes up in Milton Keynes.

Did you manage to sort the RWS out mate?

It was S&B I spoke to over the part I need ( the panel that the switches are attached to in the centre console)and they told me they couldn't help me. But thanks, I'll take a look at the vito club.

It'll never be right unless this new Mercedes developed upgrade works.

The reports have been positive so far so fingers crossed.

That's just a standard Merc viano part, so I'm lost as to why they couldn't source one at a dealership? :?

No,it's not, it's the panel (just below the armrest) that the switches for the intercom, lights, door locks and electric steps fit into. It's back lit of a night and it's this light that has broke.
I have also had a problem sourcing a new "jump strap" that secures the wheelchair in place. S&B (I spoke to a lady called Emily) told me they couldn't help with this either. I contacted Penso and they told me they don't deal with individuals ! I eventually contacted Unwins who supplied the belts to Penso and they told me to contact,,,,,,,,,,,,guess who,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,KPM. After I explained the situation to them, they did some checks of their own and agreed to deal direct with me.

Ah, THAT panel!

It's an led or bulb on a wire if I remember correctly that's accessed from the side panel.

If you're London based I'd seriously suggest parting with £30, Micks got some great contacts at the dealerships and does get things moving when you hit a brick wall.

I'm guessing it's too much trouble for them to call MK distribution centre and get the parts, as they now have them in stock and delivered within 24 hrs direct from penso. That was the agreement signed off by the uk based Mercedes directors.

Since December ....

Not a lot.

Speaker in drivers door went - warranty
Reversing sensor's went- warranty

Had a major service in April.

That's about it.

I'm still awaiting this RWS upgrade, however Penso the vehicle converters are now doing a limited number at their Coventry factory under an agreement with Mercedes Benz, so I've agreed to pop up there next month for the work. You get lunch, some free diesel and a tour of the factory thrown in. =D>

We don't really have that choice in London, besides owning an older cab just haemorrhage's money in my experience, especially with a TX model.

Front N/S wing got rammed by a 'runaway' sign on hotel forecourt on Wednesday.

Biggest loss on a trip to Heathrow yet.

£400 for a new wing.

I wonder if the plastic wing on the previous model would have fared any better ?
