Went back to the base, average day, put the PDA on the desk, a waiting night driver pounced on it, the base op was outside having a fag and the phones were ringing.....

I think we should stop employing radio staff that smoke.

in a previous life, working in a warehouse i realised every hour i was alone for 15 minutes as everyone was having a fag break, so i started standing outside too, i didnt smoke but why should i miss out on the breaks?

No, 24/7 is £150 a week (car+pda 24/7 is £300 a week)

my school run ties me up mon-friday and i tried doing town work between the school but it didnt pay so i just rent saturdays for 9 hours, £20

even better..... those who rent part time (i.e. not 24/7) say 3 or 4 days a week pay £60 a day and only get the vehicle for 12 hours, leaving the vehicle and PDA spare for other rents

at £300 car+pda and £150 just PDA, means the cars £150 a week, and those without a stake for vehicle and insurance, etc wont get a car of their own, the difference isnt great enough
