I know what you are saying! Having said that if an accident happened and as things stand - guess whose ar$e is going to get kicked :roll: Everything is verbal, so in the event of a claim, it will no doubt be..........."I don't remember that being said - that will be the order of the day".

Another point as raised by Trotts;

So often the punishment does not fit the crime or in this case the offence. Why should the guys family (might be children involved) suffer hardship? Very wrong in my opinion.

Are you off yer nut John you marry a shop lifter he gets caught the children go hungry ffs adriver comits a serious offence loses his license the family suffer.

Many years ago, I was a bus driver. I was in the T&G union. This was back in the 1970's when you weren't politely asked if you would like to join the union, if you wasn't in the union, you weren't going to drive a bus. (Those days aren't EVER coming back, TT) anyway, I was summonsed for driving without due care and attention. No worries, I'm part of the union, I thought. The union told me to plead guilty, and they would pay the fine. I wanted to plead not guilty, but the union shyster, ( sorry,"rep") told me I was on my own if I wanted to defend it. So I did defend it, ( myself ) ( I know, I had an idiot for a client) and successfully defended my case. An example of how a union card is as much use as a chocolate fire guard. And when Maggie ended the closed shop, so ended my union membership. For ever.

If its a former LTI cab, does this cab have the correct clamps for holding an electric WC, due to them only being supplied with clamps for a conventual WC

As a point of (I think) interest.

Regarding ramps on all WAV vehicles - up to what weight are they expected to take, as I do not recollect seeing any data stating i.e. "these ramps should take no more than xx lbs". The point being is that people are getting heavier, and in some cases the wheelchairs are also weighing a fair bit - are we open to a claim if say the ramps gave way/snapped.

For all of the drum banging and sabre rattling by the L.A's/law.........who actually does the risk assessments?

But if you don't have the correct equipment you don't do the job. it does not matter what equipment you do have if it isn't the right equipment. :roll:
