How can you be fully compliant to operate in Scotland without a booking office licence?

You say Get Taxi have met with the licensing committee of Edinburgh, could you provide evidence of that? I'm sure our council would have highlighted the requirement of a booking office licence as happened with Uber.

No one in Edinburgh had heard of Get Taxi until reps started appearing around ranks

One for the suckers who have signed up though, how safe are their bank details, what kind of security do Get Taxi operate?

Our Cordic App works through a PDA no need to provide card details up front, we have separate chip n pin.

Can you not just admit to being a profiteer who operates from a council house somewhere, you don't really care do you about applying for a booking office licence, Im thinking Rogue Trader

Dougie, why would the man lie on a taxi forum for all to see? You've got to be kidding eh.... Phone the guy up and get it straight from the horses mouth, if you are that concerned and maybe sign up for his app at the same time?

Whether you like it or not, apps are the future of your trade and you are going to be run by tech companies that provide a highly efficient service to the customer at the right price.

City Cab's and Dodo birds spring to mind.... =D> =D> =D> =D>

Apps maybe the future Skull, I do think so myself but hey ho!

Have you checked out the Holyrood thread which talks about APP companies?

Why has Uber applied for a booking office licence Skull but arn't operating until granted one!

I've asked what makes Get Taxi so different to Uber?

Paul Carr stated in his own words that Get Taxi have met with licensing committees but no one knows anything about them, our council advised Uber of the requirement for a booking office licence, why would they advise Get Taxi any differently?

Any App company granted a booking office licence then I have no problem

Dougie, phone the man up and ask him?

As for a booking office, I could make the argument that you don't need one. As it makes no difference whatsoever to the operation of the app. Dougie any customer or driver information will be recorded on computer. What? Pay for a broom cupboard with a brass plaque to keep everyone happy are you having a laugh? Oh and maybe the council now realise that any booking office is really just a virtual office stored on a web server? You do realise that these apps are simply a technology platform that puts the driver in contact with the customer, it's not a taxi company in any real sense like City Cabs. :-|

Recieve booking, dispatch booking, take a cut per job rather than a fixed monthly payment, nothing unique there Gary

Dougie, think of an app as a highly efficient and sophisticated means of communication where everything is reduced to the press of a button and is recorded automatically. No need for committees, telephonists, administration staff just a bunch of techs making sure everything is running smoothly.

You could have your office on the moon and it wouldn't make a blind bit of a difference. :-|

If we allow App companies to operate without a booking office licence we open the door to any Tom Dick and Harry to launch an App, not a good idea Skull now is it

As long as they are prepared to comply with council regulations the booking office, as you put it, can be stored anywhere they wish to have a server. All they do is to give the council access to driver and customer information in the same way city cab's do and everything is in the hands of the council anyway. :-|

I don't follow you concern????
