There you go again, assuming. i didn't say that the driver traveled 100 miles each day for work.

Well if you was more clear with what you wrote I wouldn't have to assume anything would I and I didn't assume I said "one would have to wonder" that is not assuming it is wondering. So anyway I'm still wondering why somebody who lived over 100 miles away would travel that far on however many days he/she did for work

Go on then just for you.
It is a love story.
The driver was originally from Rochdale but had moved here several years ago. On a visit back home she met and fell in love with the man who is now her husband. So that they could be together she moved back to Rochdale and traveled down here to work every other weekend, working Friday night and Saturday night and sleeping at a friends house. They got married in june this year and began looking for a house back here. She moved down here and again stayed with a friend for a month whilst finding a house to rent. Her husband and her children have now moved into a house and he has started up his own business in the area. She is now a full time driver here.

Defence case due in teacher rape trial

THE defence cases were today starting in the trial of four men accused of conspiracy to rape a school teacher.

The young woman says she was unconscious when she was abducted from a minicab in the early hours of May 26 and taken to Great Horton Park, Bradford, where two men took turns to rape her.

She said she passed out after drinking at a birthday celebration at a Leeds pub and came round to find one of her alleged abusers having sex with her. A second man, sitting next to her on a park bench, said he had already had sex with her, the jury has been told.

On trial at Bradford Crown Court, denying conspiracy to rape, are: private hire driver Tamseel Virk, 42, of Marten Road, Canterbury, Bradford; uncle and nephew, Azad Raja, 38, and Wakar Akhtar, 21, both of Hudson Avenue, Canterbury, and Najeem Ul-Saeed, 31, of Beaumont Road, Girlington, Bradford.

The Crown’s case is that Virk arranged with Ul-Saeed to ‘deliver’ the teacher to Akhtar and Raja, who raped her in turn in the dark, secluded park. Ul-Saeed was too late to join in. The trial continues.

Rape trial jury mull over their verdict

THE JURY in the trial of four men accused of conspiracy to rape was today resuming its deliberations.

The panel retired to consider the verdicts at Bradford Crown Court late yesterday morning.

Trainee mechanic Wakar Akhtar, 21, of Hudson Avenue, Canterbury, Bradford; pizza chef Najeem Ul-Saeed, 31, of Beaumont Road, Girlington, Bradford; minicab driver Tamseel Virk, 42, of Marten Road, Canterbury and Azad Raja, 38, of Hudson Avenue, have all pleaded not guilty to conspiracy to rape a schoolteacher in the early hours of May 26.

The prosecution alleges that Ul-Saeed instructed Virk to drive the drunk woman in his private hire vehicle to Bradford’s Great Horton Park.

Then Akhtar and his uncle, Asad Raja, took turns to have sex with her on a bench.

Minicab driver and friends jailed for 68 years over rape attack on teacher

A minicab driver and his three friends have been jailed for a total of 68 years after preying on a young vulnerable teacher in a rape attack a judge blasted as “despicable” “callous” and “inhumane”.

Tamseel Virk, 42, Najeed U-Sajeed, 31, Wakar Akhtar, 21, and Azad Raja, 38, were jailed for 17 years each for conspiring to rape the young woman on a park bench during the evening of May 25 and early hours of May 26, after she was picked up by a minicab driver Virk.

The court heard that the woman - who cannot be named for legal reasons - had been out celebrating a friend’s birthday in Leeds, had been intoxicated when she left.

When she came round, she found Raja was having sex with her - while Akhtar told her he had already had sex with her.

Today, Virk, U-Sajeed and Raja were sentenced at Bradford Crown Court, Akhtar was sentenced but is currently on the run - fleeing the country after giving evidence, the court heard.

His Honour Judge Jonathan Durham Hall QC told the court that the evening had been a joyful occasion to begin but she ended up “coming to her senses on a park bench in another city being raped”.

Describing the victim’s experience as a nightmare Judge Durham Hall told the three men in the dock: “This was totaly despicable, it was utterly callous, it was a degree of inhuman behaviour hard, even for one such as myself inured to evil, to understand.”

During the two-week trial, the court heard that the teacher had drunk a lot, left the party without her bag and was spotted wandering around Leeds train station.

The judge said: “On that day, as was her right, she enjoyed at the birthday party a number of drinks. That is part, gentlemen, of our culture.”

At some point she had got in a minicab to travel to wherever she was staying but had got out again in a confused state, possibly regarding getting her bag back.

It was then, the court heard that Vick spotted her in his cab and “spotted her, accosted her and secured her in the presence of the cab” according to the judge.

Vick then drove the confused woman from Leeds to Bradford, 11 miles away and a destination she didn’t want to go to.

The judge said: “Where she thought she was being taken by you we will never know but she didn’t want to go to Bradford.”

Judge Durham Hall desribed the crime as a humiliating and degrading abduction.

Two jailed for helping Bradford rapist flee to Italy

Wakar Akhtar Wakar Akhtar, 21, fled to Italy in November during his trial for raping a woman in a Bradford park

Two men have been jailed for helping a man flee the UK during his trial for raping a woman in West Yorkshire.

Mohammed Raja, of Hudson Crescent, and Raja Sarwar, of Tern Street, both Bradford, were each jailed for four years at Bradford Crown Court for perverting the course of justice.

They helped 21-year-old Wakar Akhtar escape to Italy in November.

West Yorkshire Police said Akhtar could begin a 17-year sentence for rape following an extradition hearing.

Akhtar, of Hudson Avenue, was arrested in northern Italy on 29 November and is due to have the extradition hearing at the High Court in Brescia on Wednesday.

West Yorkshire Police said he was sentenced in his absence for raping a woman at Cousen Road recreation ground in Bradford.

Three other men from Bradford - Tamseel Virk, 43, Azad Raja, 39, and Najim Ul-Saeed - were also given 17-year sentences for their part in the rape conspiracy.
