I was reading PHTM specifically the feature on Magnum Cars in Stoke. It showed in the summary their fare tariff was £3 for 1st mi!e and £1 per subsequent mile. That sounds mega cheap assuming I read it correctly. Our local council tariff rate 1 is about £4.30 1st mile and £2.15 for each subsequent. Are Stoke drivers busy cos people can afford the fares?

Unbelievably it is 2 years next month since I became a full time driver. :)

People work for peanuts then complain the trade's not viable.

Your not related to Skip by any chance?

Lets do the Maths...what you used to get Paid £5.00 for you now get Paid £4.00 for so that's 80% percent of your previous earning potential, so to make up that extra £1.00 of Profit your going to have to work 25% longer. And if your trade is up 70% then your going to have to work 87.5% longer to make up the margin of lost Profit...That does not include the Extra fuel and Vehicles costs incurred by you gaining 70 % extra work at a lesser profit margin.

By what percentage has your Nett profit Increased by..I'll hazard a guess its no more than about 20% over all after all the extra costs involved.

So if you drop it another 20% you will be even more busier.

You could be busy all the time and make as much by volunteering to work for your local community transport outfit.
