Well I can say you are definitely wrong on that one. I would not behave in the same way. If I had a problem, during my 35 years as a member, with any part of City Cabs or any Committee member I would conduct my business in a totally different manner that appearing on a Forum making anonymous accusations.
City Cabs has its Rules Bylaws and Articles of Association. It is an Association run by the members and for the members. It was established in 1925 and has a long and honourable history. If any member is disgruntled with any individual or individuals there are a few options that he can take to challenge any persons perceived wrong doing whether this person is a committee member or not.
Just why anyone would select to go down this preferred road on this site is for this individual to know.
I would respectfully suggest that there are probably other reasons why this anonymous contributor wishes to keep his identity hidden and the fear of intimidation is not true because I know that intimidation and/or bullying does not form any part of City Cabs.
It has been my experience throughout the years that some members and drivers use these methods as a cop out. I can guarantee you this that the reason I am interested in the identity of this anonymous person is to establish the real and honest motivations behind his accusations. But I have come to realise that "honesty" is something that is in short supply when it comes to taxi forums hence the need for "made up names" to hide behind.
It is just a pity that these forums cannot be utilised in a more positive fashion rather being hijacked by those who seek to do nothing but harm our trade.
ANTONY
Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears.
I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him.
The evil that men do lives after them;
The good is oft interrèd with their bones.
So let it be with Caesar.
The noble Brutus
Hath told you Caesar was ambitious.If it were so, it was a grievous fault,
And grievously hath Caesar answered it.
Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest—
For Brutus is an honorable man;So are they all, all honorable men—Come I to speak in Caesar’s funeral.
He was my friend, faithful and just to me.
But Brutus says he was ambitious,
And Brutus is an honorable man.He hath brought many captives home to Rome
Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill.
Did this in Caesar seem ambitious?
When that the poor have cried, Caesar hath wept:
Ambition should be made of sterner stuff:
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And Brutus is an honourable man.You all did see that on the Lupercal
I thrice presented him a kingly crown,
Which he did thrice refuse: was this ambition?
Yet Brutus says he was ambitious;
And, sure, he is an honourable man.I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke,
But here I am to speak what I do know.
You all did love him once, not without cause:
What cause withholds you then, to mourn for him?
O judgment! Thou art fled to brutish beasts,
And men have lost their reason. Bear with me;
My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar,
And I must pause till it come back to me.
