When we have had any problem, we have got the police to deal with it. Yes they will try the old "it's a civil matter" routine but we have the sheet kindly supplied on this forum where it sates what the law is and low and behold the police have then sorted it and got the money for us.

Fair enough,

But still think this its not really a data protection issue as the driver has delivered the passenger anyway its not giving a flat number out to any old person. Its a bit like a builder doing some work for you if you dont pay hes going to come round knocking on the door isn't he?

Anyway, if the runner was [edited by admin] she wont know if she told the driver her flat number or not so its all a bit hypothetical

they arnt allowed to give out a phone number either even if theyve done a runner.

Maybe I am missing your point but what is the difference between giving a Flat number and giving a House number? ........As Toots says.......

Circumstances. When giving your address for the purposes of being picked up in a cab you are not giving your permission for your address to be given out for debt collection purposes.

Ok but as they say where there is a will.....there is a way. He could have possibly been given that address because the cow-bag left some lost property in the taxi, like say rubbish/lost false finger nail/umbrella etc.....and then mentioned that she had forgotten to come back and pay the remainder of the fare.

Having said that I still think that my mates idea of leaving a pot of whatever colour paint upside down outside the front door ! ( gotta be gloss, and of course not forgetting to take the lid off) it sort of serves as a reminder, after a few times it has been known to cure the problem

i had a runner last night...or got bumped as we say...got a job...29 ....street in Anfield....went to the street and the bloke was stood outside number 29...City centre please and then i will be going over the water to Hoylake he said....took him to town £6 so far...wont be a sec he said just got to drop this bag off...waited 15 min and he never came back...got in touch with the office and they said that if i never saw him come out of the house they could not block this address....all they could do was block the number that the job was booked on.
Went back to the address knocked on the door and the bloke at 29 said they never booked a taxi from 29....he said the person that lives at 35 did it...and he had done it before....so right from the start the person that got in my cab knew he was going to bump me.
All this took about 1 hour out of my working night.
I will be going to give this fell a knock later on ...he thinks he has had me off...but we shall see.

what a waste of YOUR time, you could have carried on and simply memorised the event for future reference

Aren't you supposed to check the car after every hire?
