Last comment from me tonight, I heavily promote City Cabs and our App on Social Media, I copy the link from the App Store and Tweet it most days, I use #Edinburgh so as to reach as many views as possible, what we can all do is share that link/App amongst our friends and families on Facebook and Twitter, promoting our circuits on social media could just be the difference

Not quite true Artur, you could certainly slow down the rot but in reality, it's only a matter of time before companies such as City and CRT are obsolete. Their business models are inefficient, costly and redundant. :-| Oh and you don't have to be a rocket scientist to know that taxi apps are the future. =D> =D> =D> =D>

Blah blah blah negative negative. I doubt you'll be surprised to find i disagree. Your only facts in such statements as obsolete are hope.

Private Reggie what about the STF that's also an association of which we are members so what's the difference .

STF are national, ETA are local, Radio Companies like CC&CRT could deem ETA at anytime detrimental if it becomes radical, All local reps must get around the table and find some common ground, that is going to be difficult because there are to many egos who have agendas against individuals, our trade has come close in the past, let's hope the fight against Uber brings us that little bit closer.

You are joking are you not?

My understanding is that the ETA has been going for years so what's changed , will Les deem it detrimental because it objected to his plans there certainly is a lot of ego's in this game , maybe the Skull is right get out now .

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in Edinburgh,
we shall fight on the phone and online,
we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our city, whatever the cost may be,
we shall fight uber and get taxi,
we shall fight the apps and all new comers,
we shall fight in the fields and in the streets,
we shall fight in the hills;
we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this city or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire on the ranks, armed and guarded by the Edinburgh Fleet, would carry on the struggle, until, in God’s good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.”

Winston never gave up....

Aye but at least Winston was in with a chance, he didn't have Les and Dod in bed with ECPH or that other shower at CRT towers trying to buy up the toon with their members radio dues. #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o

During times of high demand Owners are more likely to be loyal to radio work than drivers, that's what I'm saying, using the fact at times of high demand there will be more drivers than owners running mobile, im not singling out you as an individual, City Cabs have some great drivers who do the work on the circuit, you surely can't be advocating drivers are more loyal than owners

Do you actually believe the above points you make?? I have seen the discipline info re drivers up in front of the committee for failing to cover work over MANY years and if you take off your rose tinted "owners" glasses my friend I think you will agree there are MANY repeat offenders on these sheets who are OWNERS not drivers who regularly fail to cover radio work whilst they try to just grab fares from the "wonderful" airport rank. For your info I DO NOT work for City Cabs now but have in the past and please do not tell me what I am "advocating" (you surely cant be advocating drivers are more loyal than owners )

Private Reggie wrote:
The majority of City Cab members/owners are extremely loyal to City Cabs and also to our present committee, the stats back this up, the point I'm also making is what chance have stand alone Apps got when at times of high demand a lot of Taxis are running mobile, that's where we have the advantage, we have a huge loyalty to our radio work, owners and drivers, I'm sure the stats prove my comments are correct.

Off course the majority are more loyal than those who are not, why do you feel the need to state the blindingly obvious in your posts. Please expand on stats that back up your point that they are "extremely" loyal to the committee, I would be intrigued to read FACTS not just your point of view

Private Reggie wrote:
Again the point I'm making is a collective point

On your last point about insults and abuse, the abuse is only coming from 1 or 2, I presume the insult/owner comment is aimed at me, I'm not insulting anyone, if it's taken by you as an insult and a personal one at that then that's your issue, there is no evidence of insulting the drivers of City Cabs coming from me

Again your presumptive qualities are failing you. I am making the general point that the same comments and the same arguments appear here and elsewhere by the same people year in year out decade in and decade out and nothing changes. If you think I was either upset or affected by you personally then please be under no illusion....I am not.

The trade is full of self interested egotistical individuals who whilst initially may have started with good intentions gradually change to bitter and twisted people with agendas all over the place. Until the trade finds a way to PULL TOGETHER AS ONE, then this trade is going to slowly and sadly fade away.
As examples of selfish greedy taxi drivers I have had 3 occasions in the last 2 nights where 2 City Cabs and 1 Central guy have picked up within 20 metres of ranks and not even been ashamed of doing so whilst I tooted my horn, 2 at George 1V bridge rank and worst of all a central guy on Tues night at the crossing at the Playhouse rank with SIX cars on the rank in front of him not 10 metres away!!!!!
Still what am I saying its never us its always the part timers, the PH or anybody else we want to bad mouth instead of looking at OURSELVES

Driver Loyality will be the maker or breaker in the challenges ahead, let's hope drivers stay loyal to the trade

No customer loyalty will be #-o

It gives me the FEAR that one day you could be on the committee making strategic business decisions.

Seen as you like YouTube videos here goes......

Customers have the right to choose, Customers tend to be loyal to reliability&service, who provides that service? Drivers/Owners

It's in our own hands Artur, keep the trade a reliable trade, provide a top class service and our customers will stay happy, if drivers start using stand alone Apps like Get Taxi and Uber making them a reliable service our trade will be the loser

Thought you didn't know my real identity :?: How did you know I may one day be on our committee :?:

I may and I may not stand in the future but if I do you can be sure that Customer service will be right at the top of my list
