Can I ask what would you do with the rest of your life if we started doing things that you approve of.

I would hasten a guess that the word you are looking for is "bullsh£t" Skull. For someone who is championing for consolidation you take a closer look at your own business activities. Did you ever have the urge to keep plate 1 and then consolidate your position with plate 2? No need to answer that Skull. What I would like you to provide is facts and figures before we enter further into your maze of delusional horse crap.

Do you think Donald Trump would be able to run a co-operative? I'll give you the answer to save you the time, he wouldn't entertain it, unless of course you could offer him a 7 figure salary. Now Skull, do you perceive that any of the "Taxi Drivers" that are running the said company's are earning anything near that figure? No need to answer Skull.

I can only imagine the problems you faced starting up your own Dog Walking business. I would also bet that you needed someone to take the lead.

Walk on Skull Walk on.

I neither approve nor disapprove. :-| And it may surprise you to know, I don't really give a shi* one way or the other. I work now doing something that I love and I believe my appreciation comes from my previous life spent in purgatory as a taxi driver. =D> =D> =D>

If you like, writing on this forum is a constant reminder of how lucky I am. It's a form of release or escape one might say. It also gives me a good laugh.

You are confusing me with a greedy self-centred self-interested egotistical person like yourself. I never wanted plate no. 1 or no. 2 and I did not give a shi* about the money. For me it was a game. I was trying to figure out what I didn't want in life. And I did not want to work with rats like you. Really Kaiser, people like you sicken me to death with your greed and self-deception. I wasn't fighting to stay in the trade. I was trying to escape and now I have. =D> =D> =D>

Oh and one thing the trade did give me was a love for books. I educated myself by sitting in that hell-hole you call a cab and that was one of the most liberating experiences of my life. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

I honestly thank people like you for aiding my escape and keeping my sanity. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> My idea of hell is ending up like you, a parasite feeding off anything with a pulse. #-o

Deary me... #-o I hope it's all been worthwhile... #-o #-o #-o #-o

That's a hell of an education you gave yourself. What on earth were you reading?

Do you actually know Kaiser to give such a lucid description?

Oh and while we are at it Kaizer, where am I "championing" the consolidation of the trade? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? I merely pointed out what anyone would do when faced such a threat. What? Fight these multi-nationals with your trade divided? You are having a laugh!!! #-o #-o #-o

I keep telling you, do not confuse bitterness with the contempt I feel for people like you. :-|

Which coincidentally reminds me of another of Scott Pecks books
People of the Lie
Which would be a good read for another character on this thread.

Not you Gary,we all know you don't tell porkies you are just angry.
I hope that suggesting a book isn't considered a form of bullying.

Probably better than he knows himself. :-| Les, it's not that hard to work people out by their actions, even by what they write on this forum.

That's why you are continually having your pants pulled down and your ar*e spanked for being disingenuous about your intentions and the kind of person you really are.

You do realise that a lot of these types of books are written on the back of eastern religions and philosophy with some readers digest psychology mixed in?

"People of the Lie" sounds like someone standing for committee...     Aye Les, I'm angry right enough...

Please respond to some of the points I made below Private Reggie

Thanks

During times of high demand Owners are more likely to be loyal to radio work than drivers, that's what I'm saying, using the fact at times of high demand there will be more drivers than owners running mobile, im not singling out you as an individual, City Cabs have some great drivers who do the work on the circuit, you surely can't be advocating drivers are more loyal than owners

Do you actually believe the above points you make?? I have seen the discipline info re drivers up in front of the committee for failing to cover work over MANY years and if you take off your rose tinted "owners" glasses my friend I think you will agree there are MANY repeat offenders on these sheets who are OWNERS not drivers who regularly fail to cover radio work whilst they try to just grab fares from the "wonderful" airport rank. For your info I DO NOT work for City Cabs now but have in the past and please do not tell me what I am "advocating" (you surely cant be advocating drivers are more loyal than owners )

Private Reggie wrote:
The majority of City Cab members/owners are extremely loyal to City Cabs and also to our present committee, the stats back this up, the point I'm also making is what chance have stand alone Apps got when at times of high demand a lot of Taxis are running mobile, that's where we have the advantage, we have a huge loyalty to our radio work, owners and drivers, I'm sure the stats prove my comments are correct.

Off course the majority are more loyal than those who are not, why do you feel the need to state the blindingly obvious in your posts. Please expand on stats that back up your point that they are "extremely" loyal to the committee, I would be intrigued to read FACTS not just your point of view

Private Reggie wrote:
Again the point I'm making is a collective point

On your last point about insults and abuse, the abuse is only coming from 1 or 2, I presume the insult/owner comment is aimed at me, I'm not insulting anyone, if it's taken by you as an insult and a personal one at that then that's your issue, there is no evidence of insulting the drivers of City Cabs coming from me

Again your presumptive qualities are failing you. I am making the general point that the same comments and the same arguments appear here and elsewhere by the same people year in year out decade in and decade out and nothing changes. If you think I was either upset or affected by you personally then please be under no illusion....I am not.

The trade is full of self interested egotistical individuals who whilst initially may have started with good intentions gradually change to bitter and twisted people with agendas all over the place. Until the trade finds a way to PULL TOGETHER AS ONE, then this trade is going to slowly and sadly fade away.
As examples of selfish greedy taxi drivers I have had 3 occasions in the last 2 nights where 2 City Cabs and 1 Central guy have picked up within 20 metres of ranks and not even been ashamed of doing so whilst I tooted my horn, 2 at George 1V bridge rank and worst of all a central guy on Tues night at the crossing at the Playhouse rank with SIX cars on the rank in front of him not 10 metres away!!!!!
Still what am I saying its never us its always the part timers, the PH or anybody else we want to bad mouth instead of looking at OURSELVES

I'm stumped HSSC
I'm stating an opinion, if you disagree, that's your right to do so, it's been stated by others that we can only give significant ground away to the likes of Get Taxi and Uber if we don't all pull together, drivers have to play their part in that as does some owners, we have to up the reliability and customer service of our trade, we have to up the acceptance of taking credit cards Etc

If your points are about proving stats, then I'm only presuming based on my knowledge, im not privy to the actual stats, maybe someone who is can highlight those stats during times of high demand, again I'm presuming we have more of a problem with drivers not covering the work during these times than we do with Members, the Stat concerning our committee having the backing of the majority is fact, I go to AGMs, I'm privy to the results of Votes for election and resolutions, I had 3 resolutions last year, 40% voted for meaning 60% voted against, that's a majority backing for the status quo.

If you have points I still need to answer feel free but again I'm only offering my opinion
