I'm stating an opinion, if you disagree, that's your right to do so, it's been stated by others that we can only give significant ground away to the likes of Get Taxi and Uber if we don't all pull together, drivers have to play their part in that as does some owners, we have to up the reliability and customer service of our trade, we have to up the acceptance of taking credit cards Etc

If your points are about proving stats, then I'm only presuming based on my knowledge, im not privy to the actual stats, maybe someone who is can highlight those stats during times of high demand, again I'm presuming we have more of a problem with drivers not covering the work during these times than we do with Members, the Stat concerning our committee having the backing of the majority is fact, I go to AGMs, I'm privy to the results of Votes for election and resolutions, I had 3 resolutions last year, 40% voted for meaning 60% voted against, that's a majority backing for the status quo.

Les, if you want to talk about what you really should be doing, when faced with the reality of multi-national corporations moving into your market, it goes something like this:

The committees of both City Cabs and CRT should resign with the view to installing a caretaker committee from the body of each membership to work jointly with one purpose in mind. To create a single company operated by skilled businessmen and not daft wee taxi drivers.

The only thing a committee should be dealing with is the welfare of its members and acting as go-betweens to keep everyone up to speed on their company's performance and how it is being run.

Oh and Les, you and the other monkeys on these committees should stick to what you know best, driving your taxis.

A thousand members with one office run by skilled businessmen promoting a single app. It's your only chance. Oh and even then these multi-nationals might crush you under foot. It just depends on how much money they wish to throw at the problem.

I would think that you would be looking at a salary of about £250,000 for someone to manage a cooperative. Then assistants etc on top and managers for different departments you would be looking in the region of a million pounds. Since the crash of 2007-2008 there a lots of people with the required skills to replace the Darts team committees you have now. You would simply pay them a salary with a performance related bonus and let them get on with running the company.
