Who's not embracing? I just don't accept the accuracy of predictions made by those who make light of the pitfalls and have a vested interest in the technology they are punting.
If they say 10 years, 50 will probably be nearer the mark.

Where is my domed city and 250 mph self-driving car? They should have been commonplace by now, according to the technology geeks of 1968.

Don't you think the technology we have now is truly amazing compared to what we had ten years ago? =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

It's a different age now Gus, and the collaboration on technology is world wide. It's not just some geek working in a shed at the bottom of the garden.

Yeah and the sooner you are replace by a piece of tech that doesn't moan or think that the world owes it a living the better. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>[/quote]
What an %*^%#<< you must be skull. None of us think the world owes us a living, but we do have the right to work and support our families. You would think that someone whom doesn't even work in the cab trade would have better things to do with his time.

I see it as my mission in life to educate guys like you. =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Ah "the right to work and support our families" that old chestnut. And this from the man who would dump his driver for taking work off his phone. [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X

So it looks like, this "right to work and support our family", only applies when it's your family???? #-o #-o #-o #-o

Ever wonder what becomes of the human race, if machines ever manage to replace all of us?
Billions of people consuming resources with no means to pay for them.
Workerless factories producing exactly what and for whom?
Driverless taxis for passengers with no means to pay the fare or any reason to go anywhere.

The logical end game is extinction. That is in nobody's interest.

That's a good point and you might well be right but that's not the only outcome... here's hoping... =D> =D> =D>

Less dramatic is that machines will be seen to be replacing the human earners along with their spending power and unless there is enough disposable income from human earners then there is no profit to be had and no need of the machines or cause to produce them for no gain.

Machines should be an aid to an earner and not their replacement, no point in replacing humans in jobs unless those same humans can find work doing something else for a living and have the money to generate the profit which in turn drives industry and the economy along with the taxation that states need to survive on..

But maybe future technology will be bring us everything we need so as not to work? We can then sit around all day by the pool or play golf or go fishing? =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D>

Ah, Utopia.
That might be in the interests of the majority, but since when did the world get run for the interests of the majority?
Nope, that won't happen.

Ah the rules, this would be your rules of course? #-o Oh and there are no "rules" set out for taking work off your phone, it's not illegal in any way or by anyone's standards. In fact, it might even be ant-competitive to apply such "rules"?

Your double standards and hypocrisy betray what an ignorant greedy little man you are... [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X You don't deserve a driver. [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X [-X
