The outmoded taxi driver will follow shortly, after they have the technology and legislation sorted out and by that time, City Cabs and CRT will be long gone.

Get Taxi are targeting the Public Hire drivers whilst Uber will look to attract the Private Hire drivers.

Get Taxi and Uber are offering an App service. A service that has already been on offer to the Edinburgh Public for the last 3 years. It was disappointing to see the local press help launch Get Taxi as a new service to the public as this was not the case. However it may be indicative just how far the local press is out of touch with the local community and an indicator to its declining sales.

Discounts are the key factor and how far both of the companies are prepared to go with discounting before they pass them onto the drivers. There are a few articles above which detail disgruntled drivers asking for the basic minimum wage in areas where Uber have taken hold of the market.

Having an established app for 3 years appears to be doing something about it, I stand corrected but I'm sure we had it for 1 year exclusivity, the trade did highlight the up and coming threat of Apps that's why our government included just that within the recommendations of the Scotland Bill, Gary your slavering ask the dogs to wipe your mouth
