I have never driven one, but if you are thinking of buying new.

LTC are only making Automatic TX4s from August 2015, no more manuals after that

Nah sorry mate, only a manual TX2.

I did once drive a tx4 manual a short distance ( i mean short), just from one parking space to another. ( I was doing work on the wheel chair ramp) In that short distance i did notice how nice and light it was just like a normal car, however the gear stick was a little worn from the selector end, the cab was a 07 plate with around 300 thousand. A usual sign from high millage cabs. Already had the selector bolt on the TX2 replaced twice after it sheared and still feels a bit like stirring soup.

I find the TX2 to heavy and cumbersome on the clutch. Might be down the ford gearboxes and clutch kit. Not like a TX1 which is smooth under foot in my opinion.

There are quite a few up here in Edinburgh, but still auto's are the majority like everywhere.

Not really a good test but hopefully someone will come back with a proper analysis or maybe pop into a dealer and ask for a test drive??

Robin
