Apparently the vehicle hire is not part of the insurance policy. they say that you can't get a courtesy car for business use as part of any policy.

I have a seperate policy for this, fault or non-fault

I have just had an email from the solicitors. It looks like this claim will be going to court. The claim is for £16,000 and the costs are now £7,000.

Get the suit cleaned.

That's serious money, how can they play that card when it was nowt to do with you and all to do with your insurer...its between the two insurers to sort it out and has no bearing on your past account history.

The £16,000 is for the car rental. The £7,000 is the solicitors bill. The car rental was £300 per day or there abouts and we had the car for just over 7 weeks. The repairing garage, insurance company appointed, did seem to drag their feet with the repair and as far as I can tell from the tracker it was over 4 weeks before they even started the repair. Even when they said the repair was complete it still took another week to get the car back because they said it had a fault and would not run properly.

The legal fees are on a no win no fee agreement. I'm not sure where I stand on the hire costs.

The was no whiplash. It was a low speed collision. The other driver changed lanes from the stationary traffic that he was in and tried to come over to the lane that I was in. the damage started on the front bumper and finished at the rear quarter. He also hit the vehicle that was in front of him.

Are you sure you are going through a solicitor and not an accident co.

It was all arranged by my insurance company. They passed the hire vehicle to a claims company and it is the claims company who have appointed the solicitor. The solicitor is Winns. They are probably an in house part of the claims company.

If he gets the IFB on his case he needs to assume the position and be prepared to be Rodgerd.
