Me :- Why is that?
Customer:- the meter is already reading 20.40
Me:- that is the current time sir.

Put this recent conversation I had with a punter up on our local taxi whats app group.

Punter to me: Really foggy this morning.

Me to punter: Yes it is.

Punter to me: Reminds me of that film, now what's it called?

Me to punter: The Fog.

Punter to me: Yes that's the one.

Newish driver in a sister firm in another district learnt valuable lesson recently.

Went to London to pick up a box, for delivery back to a south coast hotel.

Got there, picked up box.

Person in London said the manager in south coast hotel has asked you to give me £80 and add it to the bill, plus he will give you an extra tenner.

Driver paid up, and returned box to manager at south coast hotel.

Only the manager didn't exist, and all there was in the box was a blank CD.

I would have more sympathy for the driver if he hadn't done the original job for peanuts, but clearly being a mug suited him to the job.
