Everything in life moves forward our trade is not exempt, I'm happy to evolve with it, I'm also happy to form working relationships, the airport demanded it's Taxi/Ph cars work alongside each other but that doesn't mean we are in bed with each other, Hotel's are and have been doing the same for years, it all comes down to the customers choice of vehicle.

I'm happy that City Cabs are doing what the customer ask's, it's they who are dictating not committee's, if a Hotel comes along and offers the black cab work, we take it but we know in this day and age the days of exclusivity are long gone, if a hotel wants a quid per job it's because they know they can get it, if it covers their staff taxi account they'd be foolish not to, welcome to the THE TRADE 2015

Les, what points are you trying to make that are relevant to Jimmy Reid's speech? #-o

Give it your best shot...

Les, if Jimmy Reid knew that qualified drivers were being denied unfettered access to the tools of their trade, in order to prop-up a scarcity value in public/council owned licence plates, he would turn in his grave. #-o #-o #-o #-o

Oh and he was right, "a rat race is for rats..." =D> =D> =D> =D>

You are all over the place Skull.

In your head you see yourself as some Socialist revolutionary who was trying to break down the council doors so everyone would benefit. Where the real truth was you and Jasbar were merely acting like the rats Jimmy Reid brilliantly implored people not to be in his speech. You were wanting your nose in the trough again despite knowing the failings in your plan.

You Skull are one of the rats Jimmy was talking about.

I should point out that we advocated quality controls and the London model, right from the start of our campaign. We were totally against a restriction on licence plate numbers because of what it meant for drivers and the disunity within the trade. In fact, exactly what you have now. #-o

Yes we scored out of the present system but it was their system and not ours, there rules so to speak and what is more, so did a few others... =D> =D>

So please explain CC, tell me where we had it wrong? If anything, I would say that time has proven us to be right on the money.. =D> =D> =D> =D>

You can't have a divided trade and then expect to improve your lot just like it is now. :-|

which bit - the dutch bloke being a bit mongish or you getting emotional about a cab trade company winning a contract?

the bit in respect of the Dutchman was tongue in cheek - but I wonder why you, having no links to the taxi trade would have any interest?

Oh and I would also point out that I never claimed to be a socialist but just someone who thought that it was more important to protect your own interests through your trade. So far you have a trade that is run to the benefit of two gravy train committees, ECPH and BAA. :-| Oh and if you want proof just look to the earnings of taxi drivers in comparison to what they were making 25 years ago and then look to what the committees are paying themselves at today's date and drivers rentals tell the same story???? #-o #-o #-o #-o #-o
