Got an update which may help other lads on here if they are thinking about going down this road.

Spoke to a nice Police Officer today and double checked everything with him. He looked at the phone, screen size, where my camera is, where my phone is and okay'd everything. :D :D

He stated (I recorded it for my own information - just in case this pops up again with the council), that as long as I've got stickers on the car informing the public that the car has CCTV and that the phone is NOT recording it's fine. He confirmed as the screen has exactly what I could be seeing in a rear view mirror it's ok.

I am however, going to sign up to https://ico.org.uk just as a back up for myself too.

Will the posters who posted very negative comments about this have anything to say.......I wonder.

(Just in case someone posts something about my garden cam being on - it wasnt. I only had the camera on for the rear seats  )

Cheers for input on this.
Chris

Problem with the police is one officer will say it's ok whilst another will say it is'nt.
Unless it's in writing it's just the opinion of that particular officer.

It is pointless saying anything because you are happy with what you are doing. just remember us if it ever comes back to bite you on the bum.

What more can I do? I've asked an experienced Police Officer and he clearly states it's perfectly fine (on record). If I ever 'get done' I think I've got a pretty good case if ever it went to court....which it clearly wouldn't.

If it's on record then you'll have no problems as you're acting on the advice of the police.
