 Post subject: Average fares.

whats the starting fare for P/H and hacks up and down the country ?

does it differ that much ?

I suspect it does. :shock:

According to PHM's table of fares, it's goes from two lumps of coal a mile in Hartlepool, to about £15 a mile in London. :D

As for PH, in many places they charge the same, in many a little bit less, and in a few a little bit more than the local taxi trade. :wink:

i somethimes think the lower the starting fare the better.
not 20p or anything silly like that.
but the first think punters do when they get in the car is look at the meter.
if its says £1.50 they think better than if its £3.50.
but at the end of the day punters pay the meter fares when they get out not when they get in.
so it has to be better if the meter moves quicker rather have a large start. :wink:

Trouble is, when the drivers get the really short once they'd be even more naffed off than they are now :?

That's what we do with round the corner jobs, just pass them on to the other lot. :lol:

But of course we keep the cream. :wink:
